This isn’t just about “what’s the max I can get approved for?” — it’s about what you can comfortably afford every single month. Pro tip: talk to a lender and get that pre-approval letter. It’s a total game-changer.
2️⃣ Am I ready for more than just the down payment?
Because, spoiler: it’s not just the down payment. Think closing costs, movers, pizza + beer for your friends who help you haul boxes, and a little cushion for repairs.
3️⃣ Am I planning to stay put for a while?
Buying makes the most sense when you’re ready to plant some roots. If you’re thinking about sticking around for at least a few years, you’re in good shape.
